Fightin 529, A documentary by Garrett DeHart
3/13/07: During a screening of the documentary at Georgia Tech, State Senator Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock), author and lead legislator of SB529, called the documentary a "propaganda film." Watch it below or purchase the DVD and YOU decide.
SB529 was signed into law by Governor Perdue on April 17, 2006, one week after massive demonstrations which saw 60,000 people standing up for immigrant rights in DeKalb County. This inspirational documentary by Garrett DeHart captures the essence of the efforts to stop SB529. Fighting 529 by Garrett DeHart is an inspirational documentary of the political, legal and human battle that preceded, followed and continues today.
The newest version of Fighting 529 was adopted with English and Spanish subtitles in order to reach broader audiences. In addition, the newest version incorporates more news, interview and march coverage in 2006.
Proceeds from the sale of the documentary will be designated for the Georgia Latino Vote initiative.
