Mission Statement

The Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials (GALEO) is established to increase representation of Latino/Hispanic elected and appointed officials, to proactively address the issues and needs of the Latino community, and to engage the Latino/Hispanic community in the democratic and policy process across the State of Georgia.

Goals and Objectives:

• To encourage and develop qualified Latinos/Hispanics throughout the state to run for public or appointed office
• To develop a mechanism of implementing and researching best-practices of Latino issues and coordinate and lead on effective and comprehensive federal, state, and local policy
• To develop a statewide Latino/Hispanic legislative agenda
• To promote the involvement of the Latino/Hispanic community in the legislative process
• To promote the involvement of the Latino/Hispanic community in exercising the right to vote in all elections
• To develop accountability for all elected officials with regard to the needs and issues of the Latino/Hispanic community
• To collaborate with other organizations and associations to empower the developed goals and objectives
